2023 Agenda

To stimulate policy development, review and planning for the realization of animal welfare in Africa. It is jointly organized by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), African Union InterAfrican Union for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) and Africa Network for Animal Welfare and works in partnership with the Government of Rwanda through the ministries of Agriculture and Environment.

The International Conference on Animal-Computer Interaction is the leading venue in the rapidly expanding field of ACI. Organised yearly in co-operation with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

A well-established conference, taking place in Latin America for the first time.

This interdisciplinary conference seeks to move the meat question from the margins into the spotlight of the ongoing debates on One Health, sustainability, climate change, food security, and public health. Pakistan’s first International Animal and Environmental Rights Conference will be co-hosted by Charity Doings Foundation and Environmental and Animal Rights Consultants LLP Pakistan. This conference is open to anyone who is interested in aquatic animal protection, regardless of sector.

EAGxBerlin is intended for both individuals new to the movement and those already professionally engaged with EA and will cover a diverse range of high-impact cause areas. We believe the conference will be of particular value to those currently exploring new ways they can have an impact, such as students, young professionals, people who are excited to start new impactful projects and mid-career professionals looking to shift into EA-aligned work. We also invite established organisations looking to share their work and grow their pool of potential collaborators or hires.

The European Vegan Summit 2024 is online only will focus on the private sector, vegan entrepreneurs, and innovative companies. We plan to showcase change-makers from various corners of the world through thematic sessions spread over three days. We believe it is high time to start connecting the dots between the world of human rights, environmental rights and animal rights. Only an economy without animal exploitation can provide the answer to the challenges brought by climate catastrophe.

This event is for academics/intellectuals and has a different focus each year. The topic of the 2024 conference is: Animal Thinkers: Celebrating the Pioneers of Ethical Sensitivity to Animals. want to recognise the thinkers and doers – both historical and contemporary – who have made strides for animals, including the well-known, the lesser or not known.

An interdisciplinary conference on the economics of animal welfare. This conference aims to build on successful workshops on this topic at Duke University, Stanford University, and the Paris School of Economics.

This two-day event will explore the practical applications of wildlife fertility control in Europe. Day one will be dedicated to talks about the role of wildlife fertility control for different species and contexts: examples include fertility control for native and non-native species in urban and rural areas, rewilding, and fertility control and diseases. Day two will focus on group discussions on the implementation, challenges and opportunities of wildlife fertility control. Attendees will include representatives from public and private sectors, academia, practitioners and non-government organizations.

The NYU Wild Animal Welfare Program is hosting a two-day event to connect scholars on this topic across a variety of fields and career stages. The first day of the summit will feature lightning talks and discussion sessions. The second day will feature breakout sessions for workshopping collaborative project ideas. Both days will also include vegan meals and plenty of networking opportunities.

For highly engaged members of the effective altruism (EA) community and covers many topics including animal welfare with a focus on using evidence and reason to implement the most high impact interventions to reduce animal suffering. There is a large emphasis on 1:1 networking and usually at least a couple of animal welfare talks and meetups. There are other such conferences (including smaller EAGx conferences) which may be worth going to if they are local to you.

Polish edition of the New Food Conference

New Food Forum is a business event discussing plant solutions and trends on the food market.  Experts and successful brands will act as speakers to share their knowledge and inspire further development of the plant alternatives segment in Poland.  New Food Forum is the Polish edition of the international New Food Conference (NFC) . NFC is the first and largest conference in Europe devoted to alternative protein sources.

The Wild Animal Welfare Committee (WAWC) is delighted to announce its latest event – Translating wildlife welfare into practice: wildlife management in the 21st century – on Thursday 16 May 2024.  In this full-day online conference, delegates will hear distinguished speakers from around the world discuss how and why wild animal welfare can be integrated into wider contexts, such as land management and conservation projects.

2022 Conference Agenda

The LEAP conference, sponsored by the Wellcome Trust Our Planet Our Health initiative, will bring together researchers working on multiple aspects of meat and dairy production and consumption to consider its effects on population health, the economy, society and the environment, and aims to build a community of researchers in this field to share evidence and tools to inform action. Oral and poster presentations will be in person in Oxford and will not be available online. The plenary sessions will be recorded and available online following the event.
